Rainbow of Love

There's a feeling deep within me;
It dwells within my heart.
I'm not sure how it happened
Or where it got its start.

But I do know that it's stronger,
Now, than e'er before-
So much deeper and sincere...
I can't stand it anymore!

I must confess this feeling!
I'll shout it loud and clear-
That in my heart is love for YOU
And ONLY you, my dear!

However, there's a feeling
That has settled right beside.
A feeling, now, of lonliness
And heartache does abide.

The reason- only distance-
Between your heart and mine.
A distance that burns deeper;
It's stinging me with time.

There's emptiness and sadness
That wasn't there before.
And every time I try to smile
My tears baptize the floor.

If only I could have my way,
This distance would dissolve,
And the emptiness that fills my life
Would, soon, with love resolve.

Don't misunderstand me, please!
That love is here to stay!
It's simply that there's time and space
That's getting in the way.

But love is strong, and love is true,
And love will bear all things...
Like tears, and sleepless nights alone,
And the sadness distance brings.

After rain comes sunshine,
And after night-time, day.
So, no matter how my heart does break
I'll press on anyway.

Because YOU are my sunshine,
And you're shining bright for me!
And when I step into your love
The storms in my life flee.

So, let's keep pressing forward
Through the distance and the pain-
Because we can't have rainbows
If there isn't any rain.

So, take my hand; stand by my side;
Don't ever let me go.
Our love will conquer all that's borne
Through distance, pain, and woe.

And in the end we'll stop and see
How great our love's become.
Let's ride the wind, step through the rain,
